Art University of Isfahan in affiliation with Isfahan Science and Technology Town -after successful experience in cofounding and running the Arts Incubator- are about to study the feasibility and plan the “Arts and Culture Park of Isfahan(ACPI)”, that is a science & technology park in the field of creative & cultural industries and simultaneously a cultural center. The two organizations have started their initial actions to jointly establish the ACPI, along with other partners and counterparts. As the concept of ACPI in some aspects are similar or close to UNIVERSCIENCE, CITÉ DES SCIENCES ET DE L'INDUSTRIE, and PALAIS DE LA DÉCOUVERTE, the Parc de Lavillette and its component in Paris, France and City of Culture of Galicia in Santiago de Compostela, Spain are two major sources of inspiration for this idea, so it was so valuable to have the opportunity to visit the site and meet the managing board of the UNIVERSCIENCE to exchange experiences and opinions about above mentioned concept. Thus, the Art University of Isfahan delegation that was consisted of Dr. Mostafa Kiani –the dean of university, Dr. Mahmoud Reza Saghafi –vice chancellor of research & technology, and me, Saleh Ghaei –director of university`s Arts Incubator, met these sites at an official mission in 2nd -8th May and negotiated about mutual interest with their managing boards. In addition, there was negotiation with the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) that led to some joint actions such as student and lecturer exchange and allocating research grants. The upcoming collaborations are perusing through MOUs and joint action plans in future.
